The engineering choice
A 3D fan of 0.05 mm fibres weighs less than a single 0.15 mm classic lash. The fan spreads the load and the visual weight; the natural lash carries less than it would under classic.
Effects on this base
An effect is a pattern of length and density laid over the base. The eye shape decides which ones flatter.
