Wispy lashes · Downtown Toronto
Wispy lashes are a map, not a separate set: a soft, full base with slightly longer spikes placed at intervals, so the lash line has texture instead of an even edge. We build wispy on a hybrid or a volume set and draw the rhythm of the spikes for your eye, at our atelier on Wellington Street West.

What are wispy lash extensions?
The base comes first, usually 9 to 11 mm in a gradient across the eye, made of light fans or a mix of fans and single fibres. Then spikes 2 to 3 mm longer are placed at a set interval, each one a closed, narrow fan on its own natural lash. The space between the spikes is the design: a wispy set that has been filled solid is no longer wispy.
The rhythm is adjusted for your eye: closer at the outer third to lift, wider at the centre to open. The interval and the spike lengths are written into your map, so the texture is rebuilt at each refill.
What is the difference between wispy and hybrid lashes?
Hybrid is a set: single fibres and fans mixed. Wispy is a map drawn on a set. Most wispy sets are built on hybrid, because the fans make the base and the singles or closed fans make the spikes. On classic the spikes are single longer fibres and the effect is delicate. On volume the base is denser and the spikes stand out more.
How much do wispy lashes cost?
A wispy set costs the price of the set it is drawn on: from $170 on hybrid and from $190 on volume.
Before tax.
Who suits wispy lashes?
Wispy flatters almond, round and upturned eyes, where the texture reads as movement.
Wispy suits
- Almond, round and upturned eyes
- A lash line full enough to look full between the spikes
- Anyone who finds an even lash line too heavy
Start with another set
- Very sparse natural lashes: light volume first, and wispy at a later refill
Do wispy lashes look more natural?
More than most sets, because natural lashes are not uniform either. Kept at a short spike length and a soft curl, a wispy set reads as your own lashes with more texture. With longer spikes and a stronger curl it becomes visibly styled. You choose the level at the consultation.
How long do wispy lashes last?
As long as the set they are drawn on, with a refill every two to three weeks. Because the interval and the spike lengths are on your map, the refill rebuilds the same rhythm.
Wispy, spiky or wet look?
They are cousins. Wispy keeps the contrast soft: a full base, and spikes only a little longer. Spiky shortens the base and lengthens the spikes until the pattern is graphic. Wet look closes every fan, so there is no base and spike, only an even, glossy line.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Come with clean lashes: no mascara or eyeliner, and no oil-based products around the eyes that morning. Take contact lenses out. If you have reacted to lash adhesive before, book a free patch test 48 hours ahead. Arrive five minutes early: there is no waiting room, so we start on time.
Who will do my lashes?
Brynne Lee, the founder and lead artist, or one of the two artists she trained. Brynne is a five-time certified eyelash artist, twice certified in makeup, and an accredited trainer and educator, with more than eight years in the industry.
Danica and Nazanin bring years of experience and professional training, and both are trained in-house on the Beautiatelier protocol. Their work is checked against it every day, at every appointment, with feedback and a quality check. You can ask for an artist when you book.

More questions before you book
Do you use wispy lash clusters?
No. Clusters are pre-glued groups of lashes applied across several natural lashes at once, which binds them together. Our wispy sets are built fan by fan, each on one isolated lash.
Are wispy mink lashes real mink?
No. We do not use animal hair. The fibres sold as mink or faux mink are a synthetic drawn to a fine taper.
Can you match a wispy strip lash I like?
Yes. Bring or send a photo. We translate the spike length, the spacing and the curl into a map for your eye shape. The result is the same texture, bonded lash by lash instead of to the skin.
How long does a wispy set take?
The time of the set it is drawn on: about 135 minutes on hybrid and about 150 on volume. The spikes are placed as part of the map, not afterwards.
