Korean lash lift · Downtown Toronto

A Korean lash lift uses a flatter shield, so your lashes are lifted straight up from the root into a soft, open line instead of a round curl. It suits straight or downward-growing lashes best. It takes 90 minutes at our atelier on Wellington Street West.

Straight, downward-growing lashes before and after a lash lift at Beautiatelier
Straight, downward-growing lashes before and after a lash lift at Beautiatelier
BeforeAfter

Straight, downward-growing lashes before and after a lash lift: the same eye. Drag the line.

What is a Korean lash lift, and how does it work?

It is a lash lift done on a flatter, taller shield. The shield decides the shape: a standard rounded shield wraps the lash into a curl that turns the tip up and back, and a Korean shield holds the lash straight up along its length. The root turns, the tip stays soft, and nothing bends back toward the lid.

The rest is the same as any lash lift: one lotion softens the bonds inside the lash, a second fixes the new shape, and a keratin step conditions the lashes. A tint can be added at the same visit. Lash lifts at the atelier are done by Brynne Lee, the lead artist.

Is a Korean lash lift better?

Not better, different. It shows the full length of the lash instead of shortening it into a curve, and it keeps the lashes looking natural in profile, without the hook of a tight curl. On lashes that already curl, a standard shield may be the better choice. We decide by looking at your lashes.

A Korean lash lift suits

  • Lashes that grow straight or downward, common on monolid and low-crease eyes
  • Hooded eyes, where a round curl can fold under the lid
  • Anyone whose lash curler never held
  • Anyone who wants a lift without a strong curl

A standard lift may suit better

  • Lashes that already curl
  • Anyone who wants a rounder, more curled look

Does a Korean lash lift cost more?

Not here. A Korean lash lift is $90, or $100 with tint, the same as a standard lash lift. It takes 90 minutes, 15 more than a standard lift.

Three Toronto salons that publish a price for a Korean lash lift charge between $85 and $150, with or without the tint (price lists read on 4 October 2026).

How long does a Korean lash lift last?

Six to eight weeks, like any lash lift. It fades evenly as the lifted lashes shed and new, straight ones grow in. Book the next one when the lift has dropped, not on a fixed date.

What are the downsides of a Korean lash lift?

The same as any lash lift, because the chemistry is the same as a hair perm. What that does to a lash over years has never been measured, so we will not tell you a lift is harmless, and we will not quote a safe gap between lifts.

A lift cannot add length or density: on short or sparse lashes, extensions do more. And a lift left on too long for the lash comes out over-curled or frizzy until it grows out, which is why the lotion is timed to your lashes.

Can you reverse a lash lift?

A lift does not wash out. It ends when the lifted lashes shed and new ones grow in, over six to eight weeks. If a lift has come out more curled than you wanted, show us: we will tell you honestly whether waiting is the better course.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Come with clean lashes: no mascara or eyeliner, and no oil-based products around the eyes that morning. Take contact lenses out. If you have reacted to a lash lift or tint before, book a free patch test 48 hours ahead. Arrive five minutes early: there is no waiting room, so we start on time.

Korean lash lift aftercare

The same as for any lash lift. The first 12 hours matter most.

First 12 hours

  • Keep them dry: no water, steam, swimming, sauna or hot yoga
  • No eye makeup
  • No oil-based products on the lashes

After that

  • Wash your lashes as normal
  • Brush them upward each morning
  • Mascara is fine: non-waterproof, removed with an oil-free product

Who will do my lashes?

Brynne Lee, the founder and lead artist, or one of the two artists she trained. Brynne is a five-time certified eyelash artist, twice certified in makeup, and an accredited trainer and educator, with more than eight years in the industry.

Danica and Nazanin bring years of experience and professional training, and both are trained in-house on the Beautiatelier protocol. Their work is checked against it every day, at every appointment, with feedback and a quality check. You can ask for an artist when you book.

More questions before you book

Is a Korean lash lift the same as an Asian lash lift?

Yes. The two names describe the same flat-shield technique. What matters is the shield and the timing, which we choose for your lashes at the free consultation.

Can I add a tint to a Korean lash lift?

Yes, for $10: $100 for a Korean lash lift and tint. The tint darkens the lashes from the root and makes the lift visible without mascara.

Can I wear mascara after a Korean lash lift?

After the first 12 hours, yes. Use a non-waterproof mascara and remove it with an oil-free product.

Do I need a patch test?

It is free if you want one. If you have had a reaction before, book it 48 hours ahead.
